Art workshops in a gallery setting

The aim of the project was to engage young people in Years 3, 4 and 5 in an Art Club designed to introduce them to new artists and art skills. It was run every week from October half term until the end of the academic year with students taught in workshops run by the Gerald Moore Gallery Manager. The club aimed to boost students’ confidence and enjoyment of art and for them to find out more about the local free gallery in their area. Each week students learnt about a new art technique which they were able to experiment with themselves. Each project culminated in the students visiting a community exhibition taking place in Gerald Moore Gallery.
