Impact of partnership work done in 2019 (ISC annual Census 2020)

  • 11 state schools involved
  • 500+ state school pupils involved
  • 1200 staff hours given

*Please note, data shown here is from the 2020 Census for partnerships in 2019, rather than from the 2021 Census. This is due to the impact of COVID-19 on full year collection for 2021. The coronavirus pandemic has forced many schools to put some partnership projects on hold until restrictions are eased.

Impact Statement

We organised and hosted a full day of educational challenges in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects for 300 primary and secondary children at LCS and from 14 schools across the diocese, many of whom may not have the opportunity to participate in such learning, inspiring them to foster scientific skills and a life-long love of STEM subjects. The impact assessment showed a higher understanding of robotics, energy transfer and allowed them to contemplate careers in these scientific areas.

On an ongoing basis we employ a part time member of staff to drive music and choral awareness throughout the diocese of Lichfield. This extends to over 100 schools and takes place on our premises as well as that of diocesan churches and Lichfield Cathedral. we provide music coaching and our school choristers also participate in driving musical awareness and singing experience to some 1000 children.

We ran a Summer school in August 2018 in the school holidays for 48 children in receipt of pupil premium. These children used our sports and indoor facilities to raise awareness of team building, science knowledge, sporting skills and cultural awareness. Without exception, the individuals gave positive feedback about their experiences over the week including the ability to make new friends.
