Impact Statement
We host a weekly CCF partnership with a local state school. Approximately 50 students from a local school make use of our facilities and are supervised and supported by our four experienced members of staff. This is a long-term partnership which has brought benefits to both schools.
We have hosted the Oxford speaking union public speaking competition this year with representation from a number of local maintain schools.
In addition we have worked with the Oxford University Myriad project to provide information on pupil well-being and mental health. The data collected is part of a nationwide census to hopefully lead to an improvement in the mental health of teenagers.
Through a teacher training partnership with a local school we have been able to invite students to attend our evening lecture program which involves a series of lectures aimed at enhancing the sixth form experience lectures and may be historical, scientific, political etc in nature.
Each week 20 of our pupils are taken to 2 local primary schools where they work alongside year five and six pupils supporting them with reading and recreational play. The maths department holds an outreach event in which our Year 12 mathematicians provide maths support and fun activities for 40 students from local schools.
Our site and sporting facilities are made available to a number of local schools throughout the year as they join us for tournaments and other competitions. We play regular fixtures against local state schools are in both friendly and county cup tournaments.
Three of our senior leadership team are on the governing body of local maintain secondary schools and attend regular meetings both at full governors and committee stage.
We invite pupils from local primary schools to attend science master classes as a taster to secondary school science making use of our labs, teaching staff and equipment.
A group of our sixth form pupils attend social events with our 'sister' state school in London - this is a much enjoyed event from which has led to lasting friendships. At sixth form level we host the Economics competition (Target 2.0), including local maintained schools.
