Impact Statement

We hosted some professional development events with leading Educationalists as speakers. Teachers from other local schools form both the Independent and Maintained sectors were invited and attended. Feedback following the events has shown positive impact on Teaching & learning practices and also additional benefits of fostering relationships with staff in other schools leading to further opportunities to share best practice.

We host regular cluster meetings in Early Years with attendance from all sectors which helps professional development and problem solving for all who are involved. We also carry out specific visits between settings to help facilitate transition for pupils.

We organised some Sport, Literacy and Drama workshops led by external providers e.g. a well known children's author, an Olympic hockey player. These were attended by pupils from other local schools in both the Independent and Maintained sectors. They were co-ed events and developed community awareness and opportunities to work in different peer groups for pupils alongside the specific goals for each event.

We have an extensive programme of Sports match fixtures against other schools, some of these are local Maintained sector Junior schools. These help to facilitate the Government agenda for physical development and sport.

We have given use of our school minibuses for transport of local state school children to participate in sports fixtures.
