Impact Statement

We are partners to a Multi Academy Trust (The Rose Learning Trust), which comprises 5 primary schools. We work with this trust without any charge in the following ways:

• The Headmaster serves as a Member of the Trust, advising and monitoring the work of the trustees. This strategic oversight impacts on over 1500 pupils annually.

• Pupils from the MAT visit Hill House for a number of events annually, including 2 Art Days, a Drama Day, a Science Fair, a Hockey day and a Rugby day. These events provide educational opportunity annually for over 200 pupils.

• Hill House sponsors 4 pupils annually from a MAT school to be members of a local professional choir. This has given these children the opportunity to sing at prestigious venues across the country, including Birmingham Town Hall and the Royal Northern School of Music.

• Teaching staff from the MAT attend INSET provided by Hill House, including the provision of external speakers. 15 staff have benefitted from this annually and developed their own practice accordingly, benefitting the children in their own schools.

• For 2 weeks each year, teaching staff from Hill House and the Rose Learning Trust visit each other and share good practice. This has helped develop their own practice accordingly, benefitting the children in their own schools.

The Chief Executive of the Rose Learning Trust, Mrs Jill Foster, writes: ‘Thank you again for your kind generosity and support of our future collaborations. Hill House hosts and organises the annual Robin Hood Music and Drama Festival, which runs over 6 days, and involves over 35 schools and community groups, and over 500 children. The school provides facilities and staffing at no cost. This allows children to perform in a mutually supportive setting, receiving feedback from highly qualified assessors.

The school hosts Finningley 558 Squadron air cadets, which comprises approximately 100 pupils from local schools. We provide facilities and minibuses, at no cost. This allows a large number of pupils to access the many benefits of a national organisation each week.
