Impact Statement

A local state school uses our facilities as part of their after school care provision. A driver and GAP student collect the children in the school minibus each day, an average of 35 pupils a week. Reception to Year 2 children have access to our grounds where outside activities are organized and played with Edgeborough children. This promotes a 'sense of community'.

Currently two members of teaching staff are governors at local state schools serving on their Education, Finance and Appeals committees. This enables them to share their skills and knowledge to the State sector. This amounts to 30 hours a year.

We have recently set up an action in the community project named EPIC - Edgeborough Projects in the Community. This sees pupils working either individually or in small groups to provide time for local projects e.g. collecting and distributing food to food banks, visiting residential and care homes with choirs, doing local litter picks etc...

The Headmaster is working closely with South Farnham School as part of the Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship Trailblazer Group. This consists of at least one 3 hour meeting a term, and additional hours of research.

A member of staff regularly delivers ICT training and curriculum guidance to other local schools. This amounts to about 5 hours each month.

Edgeborough is working closely with Rowledge Cricket Club providing its pitches free of charge to help them cater for the huge growth in girls' cricket. Every week during the season Edgeborough hosts matches and training sessions. Edgeborough is building similar links with Farnham Rugby Club and will soon host training sessions on Sunday mornings.
