Impact Statement

One of our teachers opted to complete his PGCE placement in a non-selective State School. This included 30 hours of solo teaching, plus observing, marking, preparing etc. This benefitted both schools, as we were able to discuss different behaviour management techniques and the use of differentiation in the classroom. We are now looking at the possibility of a future exchange program to build on this success. Extending our reach within the community, and enabling pupils from local schools to benefit from our facilities, St. Edmund’s School hosts a number of inter-school sport tournaments during their academic year. These include an U9 and U11 Football Tournament, Cricket Tournament, a Netball Master Class Tournament and an inter-school cross country event, the latter of which we welcomed over 20 schools. St. Ed’s also hosts a Technology Challenge each year where children from local Primary schools are invited to attend and take part.

Scholarships are awarded to pupils entering Form 7 (11+) and Form 9 (13+) from the current St. Edmund’s Form 6 and Form 8 cohort, as well as to pupils applying externally.

St. Edmund’s School, Surrey, celebrates and encourages the talents of our pupils and scholarships are offered in Academia, Art, Drama, Music, Performing Arts and Sport. Our Scholars are expected to demonstrate outstanding achievement, enthusiasm and potential in their chosen field, as well as participate fully in the life of the school. Opportunities exist inside and outside the classroom for our highest achievers to explore their strengths to a deeper level, as well as further develop their talents.
