Impact Statement
Provision of Sports Challenges allowing SEN pupils to interact and play sport- Host sports events for similar schools in the state sector
As special schools have difficulty in finding other schools to play against of similar ability, the forging of new relationships have now meant that all schools taking part in the 'sports circuit' of events have an opportunity to play sport on a even level and not lose confidence and dislike sport because they have been thrashed by a far better school with pupils of normal school ability. The number of pupils now taking part in sport has increased dramatically
- Sharing of SEN knowledge at Open Day events
Visiting professionals have been able to learn from our expertise and have taken this knowledge back to their own schools. Many had said how useful our advice had been to their SEN department.
- Invitations to School Mental Health + Resilience Inset
Leaders from local schools listened to Terry Waite CBE and how he dealt with the stress, emotion and depression of captivity. Discussions were held and the feedback had been that this was an inspiring event with ideas that could be taken back into their school communities.
- Sports Leaders' programme visiting local primary schools to lead lessons
New ideas were introduced to local schools and the children enjoyed participating in new areas of PE in which they could achieve well. The children wrote and asked us to visit again with more games to play.
