Impact Statement

We have made our swimming pool facilities to two schools this year. For the state primary school (Katesgrove) we provided swimming lessons which they would otherwise have not had as access to public swimming pools in Reading is limited. Also, some of those children had never been swimming before and so they were able to have a different experience and access a new life skill. The other school is a special needs school (Addington) and again we were able to offer new experiences for pupils in a different setting.

Higher ability Sixth Form students from our state secondary partner school (Brackenhale) were offered staff expertise in applying to universities, including Oxbridge. The students took part in our mock interview sessions with specialist staff. At time of writing we know that at least one student has been offered a place at both Imperial College and Oxford to read Physics.
