Impact Statement
We have hosted inter district and county matches on the 3G pitch. Furthermore schools from the area have been able to access it when appropriate for matches. The local junior schools have benefited from sports days and sports leader projects. The College always tries to help local schools if they can.
Maintained schools - Continued to make use of the College's sporting facilities across a range of sports including cricket, football, rugby, tennis and basketball in conjunction with the College's own teams. An annual 5 a side football tournament is held on the sports field with as many as 16 schools participating. District football matches are regularly played on the College's grounds Hampshire Under 15 girls have made use of the cricket field Each year the Music School has provided a venue for public examination of brass instruments with students from local maintained schools attending. Salesian old Boys - continued to use the gymnasium and playing fields during the evenings for football training. Local community - sports leaders studying for level 2 awards in Community Sports Leadership have undertaken up to 160 ours voluntary work leading and coaching in the community. Local primary schools - Sixth Form and younger students providing mentoring services in support of learning amongst young people and for those with disabilities. 10 students teaching students who speak English as a foreign language on a weekly basis throughout the year. HCPT Pilgrimage to Lourdes - Lower Sixth students provided logistical and organisational support for central services for HCPT to facilitate 2,000 disabled children and their helpers on an annual pilgrimage to Lourdes in the South of France. Providing individual support and resources to family groups, which include entertainment, music and liturgy. Teacher Training Colleges - Teaching practice provided for trainee teachers via associations with University of Buckingham and St Mary's University college, Twickenham.
