Impact Statement

We collaborate with a local FE College with their Public Services programme and invite their students to take part in our overnight exercises for the CCF. This impacts approximately 15 students, who are keen to join the services, who would otherwise not have access to this facility.

We run coaching sessions for students from other schools and allow our facilities to be used for tournaments with local schools. The impact is such that these tournaments can take place and local students get access to high quality coaching. This has impacted approximately 100 local students across several different sports, notably hockey and rugby, and has given the students access to elite coaches.

We currently teach 1 U6 student Religious Education - the impact is such that they would not be able to study these subjects at their own school.

We invited all the local primary schools to come and see our drama productions. 3 schools attended the afternoon session.

We had 11 students from a local school attend for Oxbridge preparation interviews - this undoubtedly supported them in their preparation for HE. This is a reciprocal arrangement, which also benefits our students.

Our sports hall is used by a local primary school on a weekly basis for their PE lessons.
This is approximately 30 students.

Financial assistance is available to those families with children entering Giggleswick School in the form of scholarships and bursary awards. In addition, other forms of fee remission are available in certain circumstances.

Giggleswick School’s ethos for bursary awards

Bursary awards are available to help those parents and guardians who would not normally be able to afford the full fees for an education at Giggleswick School. They are intended for lower income families who live a modest lifestyle and are intended to provide fee assistance to those parents whose income is such that they would not be able to otherwise pay the full fees. This helps ensure that pupils at Giggleswick School are drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds. Eligibility for bursary awards All bursaries are means-tested.

Any child must first meet Giggleswick School’s suitability and academic requirements and be offered a place before a bursary can be applied for. The level of bursary awarded will depend upon the degree of assistance required. This is assessed upon a declaration of income and assets, and will be reassessed annually.
