Impact Statement
As an independent preparatory school with specialist teaching areas and excellent provision for sports we are able to invite state schools to join us for various events. This has included a variety of sporting fixtures and tournaments. We also invite pupils from local state schools to join us for coaching sessions.
Scholarships
Eversfield offers an academic scholars’ programme for children in Form 3 to Form 6. The programme is designed to extend pupils who show a desire and aptitude for deeper learning and is not linked to any reduction in fees.
Each year a small group of pupils are selected to join the programme of enhanced studies that takes place outside of curriculum time during the week. High achieving pupils are selected to join this programme through ongoing analysis of their academic levels of attainment, enthusiasm for learning and ability to use higher order cognitive skills. We expect these pupils to continue to reach high academic standards and apply their abilities across all areas of school life throughout their time at Eversfield. There are opportunities for pupils to join the programme at any time in Form 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Being a scholar is a public acknowledgement of a young person’s outstanding academic ability and is viewed as prestigious within our school community. Eversfield scholars embody the values and purpose of the School. They are pupils who excel academically and recognise that being a scholar carries responsibilities of role modelling and are enthusiastic about the opportunities available to them.
Bursaries
Thanks to the School’s charitable status, a number of fee assisted places are made available each year to help support families in the community who would not otherwise be able to afford some, or all, of the school fees. This financial support, ranging from 10% up to 100% reduction in school fees, is available for pupils entering Form 1, and above.
Applicants need to complete a Bursary Application Form and a Registration Form, but do not need to submit the Registration Fee. Forms must be submitted by the last school day of the Michaelmas Term in the academic year preceding the year of entry. Applications will be considered by the Bursary Committee for the following academic year. Any financial assistance is reviewed on an annual basis but is unlikely to change unless financial circumstances alter. Bursary awards are conditional upon the child remaining at Eversfield until the end of Form 6 unless they are moving to a non-fee-paying school.
Parents of applicants should take the opportunity to visit Eversfield prior to applying for a bursary place. This can be during an open morning or an individual tour on a normal school day.
To obtain a copy of the Bursary Application Form, or to book a tour, please contact our registrar Mrs Jennie Webb via email [email protected] or by telephone 0121 705
