Impact Statement

Science Activity Sessions are offered to pupils in Year 5, the sessions taking place throughout the year. 7 state schools attended during the 2017-2018 academic year, with a total of 140 Year 5 pupils. Our Science staff plan and deliver the sessions, and we provide the administration, minibus transport, science laboratories, materials and refreshments all free of charge. Feedback obtained from the staff at participating schools is always very positive, indicating that the pupils thoroughly enjoy the sessions and this translates into an increased interest in Science.

Our Primary Schools Cross Country Challenge takes place in the Spring. In March 2018 we welcomed teams of Year 4 and 5 pupils from 13 state schools, with 160 children participating in the event. We provided the cross country course (in our grounds), refreshments, staffing, administration, participation medals/certificates free of charge to all schools. The pupils enjoyed the competitive nature of the event, which also gave them a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the natural environment.
