Impact Statement
We are currently involved in a range of collaborative projects with local state schools, with the aim of supporting their teachers knowledge and skills, and providing leadership experience at different levels. We are a contributor to the Diocese of Middlesbrough Teaching Schools Alliance, which is working to support the Catholic and State schools in the partnership.
The College runs an extensive Outreach Programme supporting pupils and staff from many secondary schools in the region. Students from other schools are able to use facilities at Ampleforth College, and teachers can access staff with specific area's of expertise and share best practice, examples are Sports Coaching, a wide range of Musical, Drama and Choir events.
We host an annual Higher Education Day for over 350 visiting students attending, with over 70 Higher Education Institutions, Employers and Gap Year Organisations represented.
Ampleforth College offers academic and music scholarships at 11+, academic, music and Basil Hume scholarships at 13+, and academic and music scholarships at 16+.
In recognition of outstanding success in the scholarship assessments, there is the potential to be awarded a monetary award too, worth 10% of school fees. Up to twenty such awards will be made each year. Music lessons are provided for music scholars.
Bursaries are available. They are means-tested and can be worth up to 100%, depending on a student's individual circumstances.
