Impact Statement
Impact statement from Arbour Vale SchoolArbour Vale School pupils have had the opportunity to work and play alongside
pupils from Caldicott Prep school for a number of years.
They have attended live concerts; featuring international singers, as well as an
annual Christmas visits; where they experience the 'Spirit of Christmas', by singing
Carols, around a magnificent Christmas tree!
The pupils have developed Confidence within themselves as well as developing social
skills and mixing with different groups within their community. The have experienced
playing in open fields, team games with their colleagues, from Caldicott, and learnt
about camaraderie, Sportsmanship, and fair play.
The visits and strong links with Caldicott Prep have given all the pupils
experiences that in the normal routines would certainly not happen. It has given
them an opportunity to learn away from their own setting and realise that the world
around them holds many opportunities for them.
Most importantly, the impact of visiting Caldicott Prep school, leaves them with a
wonderful lasting experience, which is new, different and abiding; something that
they recall time and again.
We are very pleased to continue these visits, and assist our pupils in developing a
greater, understanding of the world around them. This unique opportunity gives them
experiences of culture, Art and Sport, for which we are grateful.
In 2020 the Headmaster, Jeremy Banks, established The Caldicott Foundation with the vision of supporting talented boys from diverse backgrounds, through scholarships and bursaries.
There is a small bursarial pot that we hope to grow, which is in place to support existing parents in temporary financial difficulty and to allow for new applications where boys demonstrate significant academic, music or sporting talent, but where their parents would otherwise be unable to afford full fees. Awards of this kind are means-tested.
Caldicott offers discounts on tuition fees for three categories of children: firstly, children of serving members of the Armed Forces; secondly, children of full-time teachers and key support staff working at Caldicott; thirdly, the third and additional siblings attending Caldicott, whether together or sequentially to their brothers. The amount of these discounts, which apply to fees and not to charges, are subject to annual review. Further details are available from the Director of Admissions.
