Impact Statement

Academic - we host Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths workshops which children from local primary schools attend. The children benefitted from using our new Science Faculty and DT work rooms. Following the success of the workshops, we now run a Saturday morning activity offering places to children from state schools to come and use our facilities.

Literacy - we invite authors to come to the school and talk about their books. Children from local state primary schools are invited to come to these events. This encourages the children to read and write more, especially when they have met the author.

Drama workshops - we run various drama workshops and invite children from local primary schools to attend. These are very well supported and enjoyed by the children.

Music - we host the Taunton Children's Orchestra in our Arts Centre every week. This gives the children the opportunity to practice regularly thus improving their skills and forming friendships outside of school.

Sports - by sharing our facilities, it enables the local clubs to meet as they either don't have their own facilities or unable to use them during certain times. Also, our facilities are given free of charge allowing more children to access them.
