Impact Statement

Radley acts, aongside Oxford High, as the Oxford hub of Swire's national Mandarin project, providing funding for the teaching of Chinese in local schools. Nearly 1000 pupils are now receiving regular tuition and we are working over time to encourage this to be sustainable in local schools. We privide teaching trainign and resourcing within the schools and are now in the third year of the project. It has been a fantastic success with great feedback from pupils and parents as their educational experience is enhanced within their schools.

We continue to be partners with Desborough College, a state boys' only academy in Maidenhead. We provide a model of partnershp based on mutual benefit without the shackles of sponsorship. The relationship thrives through personal contacts at a senior and governance level and is seen in action through examples such as provision of gifted and talented lecture programmes; revision help in Science, joint trips, pupil leadership workshops, new initiatives at the school modelled on Radley traditions such as a decalamations competition, teacher secondment and governance.
