Impact Statement

Whilst there is no formal partnership with state schools in place, as recognised leaders in teaching dyslexic students we have sought to provide information, guidance and best practice to local schools.

This has been achieved primarily through:

Staging an annual dyslexia conference which in the past 3 years has been attended by nearly 150 delegates, mostly from state schools, academies and independent schools. The conferences have featured presentations from expert practitioners, including the Chief Executive of the British Dyslexia Association. These conferences have enabled local schools to have access to quality training events at minimal cost and travel
Sharing training facilities with the Rye Education Partnership, a consortium of local primary schools, enabling these schools to up-skill members of staff in teaching dyslexic children. This resulted in Level 3 qualifications, and a widening of the understanding of specialist teaching strategies.


The school also contributes to the local Sports Partnership, using the facilities to organise and host events (eg cross country, swimming) for local primary schools, thereby increasing participation in sport for young children.
