Impact Statement

We have a very close partnership with a specialist Communication and Interaction School which is local to us. A couple of years ago a group of our senior boys completed a charity cycle ride raising over £12,000 for this school so that they could purchase a new hydro therapy pool. Subsequent to this event the relationship has flourished with the heads of both schools sharing ideas and best practice. Staff from both schools share best practice on teaching pupils with additional learning needs and innovative teaching and learning. Pupils come to our school to take part in Forest School, use the swimming pool and use the food technology room. A very positive benefit to both schools.


Over the past academic year we have hosted educational conferences on key topics. Our most recent was Mental Health. These conferences are open to staff at local schools, key stakeholders, staff and parents.


This year as a charity event we took part in the Great North Swim. This year our pupils raised money for Space 4 Autism, a local charity that we work with as we have a number of pupils on roll that are on the Autistic Spectrum.
