Impact Statement

We have organised science liaison sessions on a weekly basis for local junior schools within our laboratories. These last for 2 hours and are very popular, booking up quickly. We organise and host a local Maths Challenge Day which involves our Sixth Formers and up to 20 local junior school teams. We provide our sport facilities for free on a weekly basis during the summertime terms for the 10 local junior school sports fixtures, this includes: football, netball, athletics, rounders, rugby, tennis and hockey. We host a coding programme for local junior schools over an 8 week period and a county chess congress, which also offers expert advice and coaching. We host a regional classics competition for both junior and senior students from all local schools, working closely with the largest Classical Association in the UK, which we also host for free on a monthly basis at our school – with a membership of over 400 people. We are hosting the Lytham St Annes Performing Arts Festival and Dance Competition. We are also hosting a conference, with representation from schools across the Fylde to coincide with International Women’s Day “Challenging Attitudes, Achieving Potential” in conjunction with the Fylde Soroptimists.
