Impact Statement
Our Mandarin teacher spends two hours each week teaching Mandarin at Courtmoor School. Every Monday afternoon she teaches 1 hour of beginner's Mandarin to 18 Y7 and 8 pupils. Each Thursday she teaches one hour of intermediate level Mandarin for 12 Y9 & 10 pupils. Our Director of Sport runs the District netball and District rounders leagues. This involves hosting the AGMs and fixtures meetings, collating all the results from the District and awarding the medals/certificates.
We also run events in school at least once yearly such as the Netball festival for Juniors. This includes participation from 5-10 state schools. This involves doing some coaching of the pupils taking part which enhances their netball skills.
Our Director of Sport attends the termly PE panel meetings for the District. This involves 20 state schools within the District to share good practice regarding various elements of PE including GCSE courses and curriculum planning.
Our Director of Sport is Vice Chair of the District Athletics Committee. As part of her role she team manages the athletics and cross country teams at County events. The District Team comprises pupils from 20 private and state schools across the District which is of benefit to a large number of pupils across the District.
Our science department participates in online forums with state schools to discuss GCSE courses.
St Nicholas' School is a registered Centre for LAMDA examinations. We hosted two external candidates from Alton School at each of the February and July examination sessions which were held in our onsite facilities at Branksomewood.
St Nicholas' hosted the Rotary Young Musician competition for the 4th year running.
