Impact Statement
We offer fortnightly Academic Ambition lectures which are open to sixth form students from local state schools. We have a regular cohort who attend and are currently in the process of applying to elite universities.
As in previous years, we have organised and hosted a Higher Education Fair for years 10-13. Over 170 pupils attended from two state schools; three academic staff from our school were involved in setting up the event. We provided the administration, the hall and refreshments free of charge. Our impact assessment, gleaned from feedback surveys, was that the event was beneficial, helpful and gave potential pathways for those who might otherwise not see their future in higher education.
While we can positively state that these activities would not have taken place otherwise and feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, they have not been formally quantified or scored in any external examination or qualification.
