Impact Statement

We have invited a local school to university fairs hosted by us. The fairs had 30-40 speakers from UK universities and some masterclasses were held in particular fields like medicine and business. Sadly no pupils or staff from either school attended despite polite requests for possible numbers likely to attend after the initial invitation was sent.

Our sporting links have proved to be much more fruitful. Coaching sessions, running football competitions and offering work experience are examples of what has been achieved this year.This has been very positively received by the children taking part and well-received within the local community. Our boys also gained much from the experience in supporting younger pupils taking part in terms of relationships established and improving their awareness.

Last year we had one member of the teaching staff who was on the governing body of a local school, but that is no longer the case. One of our proprietors is chair of the local primary school. Our 'best practice' for safer recruitment, compliance and other areas has been used to assist with the governance of the primary school. The positive impact here is difficult to quantify, but shared experiences and sharing of best practice/shared INSET does help reputationally within the small market town in which we live and work.
