Impact Statement

Work together with state schools – share knowledge, skills and expertise with state schools: give advice on tracking and analysis of test scores, supervise and evaluate performance on standardised tests, advise on transfer at secondary level to the independent sector, advise on mathematical activities to enrich lessons, advise on religious education resources and ideas to priests who are chaplains to state RC primary schools.
Setting up enrichment sessions for Mathematics (particularly for problem solving and outside the box activities) for KS2 pupils.

Impact Statement 1: We organise Inter School Mathematics Challenges for pupils in Years Five and Six (separate events) in June, where pupils (from a range of different local schools) attempt and solve a variety of different problems and puzzles in Mathematics.

Impact Statement 2: Mathematics Postholder goes into state primary school in Fulham to help administer standardised tests and analyse the results linking these to SATS and NSATS findings. Advice on children at all levels of the spectrum (EAL, Pupil Premium, coasting children, those with special educational needs, those who are more able) is given. Allocation of resources then becomes an easier task, and its effectiveness (when already in place) can be more easily measured. The service has now been extended to a second school, situated in Kensington, and an initial interest has been shown other local schools.

Impact Statement 3: A Mathematics Enrichment day and competition was organised for a cluster of (around) 12 schools in the London Borough of Enfield last year. The day went well and was repeated – it took place for children in Y5 on one occasion, and Y6 on the other occasion.

Impact Statement 4: Advice on resources and ideas for priest chaplains has been given on an ad hoc basis to priests working in RC (state) primary schools. This has enabled the priest chaplains to spread good practice in Religious Education with greater ease.

Impact Statement 5: Meet regularly with the Deputy Headteacher of a state school in Fulham to advise on activities and resources that might be used to help children prepare for examinations for 11+ entry. On one occasion, met with the relevant pupils in the presence of the Deputy Headteacher to advise children on what they should do to be better prepared.
