Impact Statement

We make use of our large rural site as a Forest School Training Centre for state school teachers and also invite local schools to visit our site for Forest School activities. As part of our school site we have a wooded area we call The Coppice which has an Eco House for indoor learning and various paths and clearings through the forest as well as 'off piste' options for children or teachers who want to explore on the wild side. This environment is perfect for both training teachers to be Forest School teachers- which we do by providing our school site to the Forest School Association for training purposes - and for children from nearby state schools who do not have the large, natural woodland environnment available at their schools. The training aspect of this partnership has benefitted around 40 teachers so far, some from state schools and some from the private sector, that are now able to offer Forest Schools on their own sites as result of the training received. We are just setting up Forest School options with local schools and particularly with the teachers who have trained on our site and we envisage this developing over the next 12 months.
