Impact Statement
"The Redhill and Reigate District Athletics Competition, in association with Reigate Grammar School (RGS), is organised by the Redhill and Reigate Primary Schools Sports Association (RRPSSA), this event is now in its seventhyear at RGS’ Hartswood Sports Ground. The District Athletics Competition sees between 50 and 60 children from each school take part, making this the RRPSSA’s largest competitive event of the year, with over 600 children set to represent their schools. The students benefit from RGS's sports facilities, the Parents and Friends Association (PFA) hospitality and RGS's marketing, communications and events departments support.""In our Chemistry Crimebusting event, a serious crime is committed in the Science Department at RGS. The School’s priceless pink diamond is taken from the School’s safe leaving give possible culprits. RGS recruited Year 5 pupils from 4 local state school to help identify the criminal responsible. These 16 students explore a range of forensic techniques using two of the RGS laboratories and scientific equipment to run a series of experiments, under the guidance of RGS science staff. The students use the results of these experiments to find out which culprit committed the deed."
"Our Giant Music Day saw Year 4 and Year 5 singers and instrumentalists from six state schools come to RGS. The aim of the day was to give junior school musicians and singers the chance to join together to play with and be coached by some of our top music staff and students. At the end of the day they then performed in a wonderful concert for parents and families of participants."
"Students from local state schools in Year 10 and Year 11 are invited to RGS careeers talks including the Higher Education Convention and Careers in Law, Engineering, Finance, Media, Medicine evenings. The students benefit from access to a wide range of speakers and representatives from Universities and Organisations who they can talk to about the different career paths in detail."
Some scholarships include fee remission; values may be a percentage or a fixed amount per annum. The majority of scholarships either have no fee remission or are at a fixed amount (e.g. £1,000). Scholarships can be held alongside bursaries where candidates qualify for additional fee support.
Bursaries are only available to those who are successful in our entrance examination and interview; assistance is not guaranteed if a place is offered. The level of fee remission will be determined on a sliding scale which may offer up to 100 per cent reduction in fees.
