Impact Statement

At Queen Ethelburga’s, our QE Connect Outreach Programme is incredibly important to us. We take pride in organising and hosting a wide range of activities and events to establish and develop important relationships and provide exciting opportunities for the benefit of our local community. By connecting with numerous schools, our aim is to enable all participating children to collaborate and develop their leadership and interpersonal skills through memorable and shared experiences.

Our QE Connect events aim to…
ENRICH the experience of children and
young people beyond the classroom and
encourage a deeper understanding of the
world in which they live.

ENHANCE the physical, mental, social
wellbeing and holistic development of
children and young people by inspiring
empathy, collaboration, resilience, and
leadership, motivating them to problem
solve in different environments and make a
difference to the lives of others.

DEVELOP the aptitude and talent of children
and young people by providing access to
specialist facilities and coaching.

NURTURE a caring, compassionate ethos
and drive to support others, so children and
young people can make a positive impact in
their community and wider society.

Each academic year, we welcome approximately five hundred or more external children to participate in our QE Connect Programme. The programme provides opportunities for children and young people in Year 1-13. We are proud to offer a comprehensive programme with events across Community, Curriculum, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, Health, Exercise and Sport and Creative Arts categories.

Approximately twenty varied enrichment events are planned each year, but we also regularly work with local schools to establish pilot projects or to support events which they require support with as they arise, such as providing marshals for sponsored walk events, creating resources for school productions, and collaborating regularly with The North Yorkshire Inclusive School Sport Partnership to host various inclusive sports events for local SEND schools, by providing access to our facilities and student sports leaders.
