Voluntary Service at Shepherd's Bush Families Project & Children's Centre

Partner: Shepherd's Bush Families Project & Children's Centre
Partner type: Community Group
Project category: Volunteering

Shepherd’s Bush Families Project & Children's Centre aims to help families who are homeless or have other unmet housing needs, and suffer social and economic hardship in Shepherd's Bush and the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.

Our students volunteer at the after school club on Tuesdays, where SBFP provides a range of high quality, stimulating educational and recreational activities which enable homeless children to flourish and develop both at home and at school.

Their role involves:

  • Supporting staff in the after school club
  • Helping children with basic homework tasks
  • Engaging with children and young people in a range of activities
  •  Preparing and serving children & young people at snack time
  • Tidying up and clearing away at the end of the session
