Singing Workshop - William Ransom Primary School

Partner: William Ransom Primary School, Hitchin
Partner type: Maintained School
Project category: Music

We offer our partnerships absent services and facilities with the aim to broaden their learning experiences and provide new, exciting opportunities.

This partnership is with our local village school; it gives locals access to the Princess Helena College and fosters a good relationship with our locals.  The project arose approximatelt 15 years ago from the Headmistress and Governors who saw a need to build a strong relationship with the local village.

Aims of the project

The project brings children together to form one choir and enjoy music outside of the classroom.

Background and goals

The project stemmed from our music teacher, Rufus Frowde, who partakes in many musical projects around Hertfordshire.  In hiring a live band, he saw an opportunity to allow children and teachers to learn music in a diffeent way; it is also a way to encourage children to take up a musical instrument or study music at a higher standard.

The Singing Workshop is one of our most popular events and has been established for 5 years.
