Race for Life

Partner: Cancer Research UK's Race for Life
Partner type: Community Group
Project category: Sporting Partnerships

Cancer Research UK's Race for Life first took place in July 2017 at Wycombe Abbey, when they invited the runners to go round the large site. Over 1,100 women took part in the event, 150 of which took on the new 10k challenge that the school grounds enabled them to provide for the first time. There was lovely feedback from participants who thoroughly enjoyed seeing a part of the town that they had not seen before.

The donations so far have already raised £76,000, with £10,000 of this just from the 10k participants. Cancer Research UK said that this 'is entirely down to the school's generosity'.

In 2018 the runners returned, and this is hoped to become an annual event.
