Partner type: Maintained School
Project category: Academic

Primary pupils come to Streatham & Clapham High School to make use of the school's computing facilities and to learn Python Turtle Programming from a specialist teacher.

Aims of the project

The aim of the project is to give local primary pupils the opportunity to learn coding from an expert.

Background and goals

The Head of Digital Learning at Streatham & Clapham High School identified a lack of computing facilities and expertise in a local primary school.

The project uses a computer room at Streatham & Clapham High School and the expertise of a computing teacher.

SCHS also provides transport for the pupils to the school.

All pupils become confident in a programming language and enjoy the experience.

Pupil involvement

There are 14 Year 5 pupils (7 girls and 7 boys).

Frequency and duration

There are four 1 hour sessions over a period of 8 weeks.

The project will be repeated next year.
