More than £11,000 was raised for the local Bradby Club as part of Rugby School’s 450th Anniversary programme to support the local community. Fundraising projects have taken place across the School community, also involving Lawrence Sheriff School for the past nine months culminating in a cheque presentation on the 450th Anniversary Community Day on 27 September 2017.
The day began with a sponsored walk around Draycote Water, started by MP Mark Pawsey, and ended with the 450th Global Pass ball arriving back on The Close by helicopter. Fundraising projects by pupils and staff have involved various 450 themed events including 450 laps around The Close and 450 miles covered by swimming, running, walking and cycling while staff cycled 450 miles from London between them and one member of staff walked the Pilgrim's Way.
