Schools Together Group: Annual conference, May 2020

Date: Tuesday 19 May 2020, 09:45 - 16:45
Venue: The King’s School Canterbury
Organisers: Schools Together Group
Cost: Free
Registration: To follow nearer the time

Workshop leaders: The group would be interested to hear from colleagues within either sector who have experience of partnership working which they feel they could share with others who are exploring or developing partnerships. If you would like to lead a workshop at this event, please complete this form BY 29 FEBRUARY.

Workshops are 45 minutes each and we particularly favour workshops led by pairs across sectors. Workshops should be more than a showcase for a particular project. We would like presenters to focus on the practicalities of running a partnership, generalise the benefits and challenges, offer tips for success, and should if possible address:

  • Mutuality - how does the partnership benefit both schools involved?
  • Sustainability - what steps have you taken to ensure that the partnership will endure beyond initial enthusiasm or withstand changes of personnel?
  • Impact evaluation - how do you (will you) know if your partnership if making a difference?

We will finalise the programme and notify workshop leaders by 13 March. Please contact Christina Astin if you have any questions:

Course audience: This free event is open to anyone with a professional interest in school partnerships from state or independent sectors, including school leaders and those responsible for coordinating multi-school or community partnerships.

Summary: The fourth Schools Together Group annual conference takes place at The King’s School Canterbury, in their new Malthouse theatre, on Tuesday 19 May 2020. This is a whole day event from 9:45am – 4:45pm and will feature several workshop sessions as well as keynote talks and a panel discussion. The previous conferences (at Eton, York and Highgate) have been very popular and a great opportunity for learning, discussion and networking. Please save the date and tell your partner schools.
