Volunteering at St Vincent's Therapeutic Day Care Centre
Cheltenham Ladies' College students assist at the St Vincents Theraputic Day Care Centre, helping staff with the needs of the day according to which activity is being carried out. Specific placements and activities vary.
Aims
We aim to support the efforts of the St Vincent's organisation in helping people carry out independent and dignified lives, through providing accessible spaces and centres for supported living if needed. The beneficiaries are those in the community living with a disability that may require special attention, or accessible facilities like those in the Day Care Centre.
Resources
Both teaching and non-teaching staff are involved in the smooth running of our partnership with St Vincent's
Pupil Involvement
We send approximately three Sixth Form students a day to St Vincent's.
Frequency
This project is an ongoing one and we have had several generations of students helping St Vincent's.
