Volunteering at Cheltenham Open Door
Cheltenham Ladies' College students attend the centre and assist staff in food preparation and welcoming people using Open Door's services.
Aims
The aim of this project is to support the aims of Open Door - namely, to assure the right of every person to food, companionship and shelter, whatever their situation in life. The charity identified a need for a place of refuge and shelter for those without certain lodging or income, and CLC students assist with creating such a place through their volunteering efforts.
Resources
Both teaching and non-teaching staff are involved in the upkeep of the project
Pupil Involvement
Senior pupils, aged sixteen to eighteen, from Cheltenham Ladies' College help out at Open Door every weekend
