The Historic Parks and Gardens Study Group

Belmont Grosvenor School is set in an idyllic and stunning, rural location in the Nidderdale Valley.  The impressive gardens were originally quite an attraction for Victorian and Edwardian day trippers and are still home to rare species and boast one of the largest bamboo displays in the north of England. We have been absolutely delighted to support and work with the Historic Parks and Garden Group.  Three researchers have visited the historical gardens, as part of their study on the history and development of Victorian Gardens.  Staff have shared their knowledge of the grounds and buildings with the group.  Some of the work will be added to the Parks and Gardens UK national data base and of course will be added to further enhance our humanities and science curriculum.
