Sponsorship - The Contemporary Craft Fair

Every year, staff and pupils at Stover School (including the head of the Art Department) volunteered their time and resources to offer an activity in the children's tent at the Bovey Tracey Contemporary Craft Festival. Visitors of the festival are welcomed into the tent to create their own piece of artwork which they can take home with them afterwards. We look forward to offering this project again for many years to come.

Aims

Stover School is frequently involved in events within our local and wider community and is committed to supporting initiatives such as The Contemporary Craft Fair. Our free workshop is designed to encourage artistic talents and creative thinking.

Background

Stover School hosted its first workshop in 2015 with over 10,000 visitors over three days. The Music Department also get involved and have provided a programme of popular music ranging from Spanish Guitar playing to show tunes such as 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' and 'Summertime'.

Resources

Teaching, non-teaching staff and Sixth Form pupils give their time to host the workshop over the weekend. This is an annual three-day event. The School pays for all the equipment needed for 700 children and adults to try the free art and design workshop. A number of pupils in the Preparatory School also visit the workshop on a school trip.
