Saracens Rugby Club
Established in 1876, Saracens Rugby CLub are London's premier rugby club competing in the Gallagher Premiership, the European Champions Cup, the Tyrells Premier 15S and the Premiership Rugby Cup. Belmont and Saracens formed a partnership in 2018.
This partnership is building strong links between Belmont and its local Premiership rugby club in order to inspire boys and girls to play rugby. As such, Saracens is a local, family club to support.
A strong historical link exists between The Foundation and Nigel Wray, the owner of Saracens. Saracens started their community partnership programme and invited Belmont to be one of its 12 partnership prep schools.
The resources utilised include school facilties for training purposes and the use of Alianz Park when Belmont teams play at the ground.
Belmont gain access to coach education, guest speaks and opportunities to play at the ground. This partnership also builds community links between the club and school while encouraging pupils to play and watch rugby union.
Pupils benefit in a number of ways, including playing at the home ground and scholars hear from guest speakers throughout the year.
School staff are offered CPD to enahnce their coaching abilities which ultimately benefits pupils training sessions and knowledge of the sport.
The partnership is ongoing with events taking place throughout the school year.
