RYA Level 2 powerboat course

Member of staff teaches and assesses pupils from state schools on their RYA Level 2 powerboat course for three weeks per year who are on the Navy expansion programme.

Aims

Passing RYA powerboat course level 2 to advance in the ranks in the Navy CCF section; to learn new skills and health and safety involving use of powerboats to which they might not otherwise have access/opportunity.

Resources

1 member of teaching staff. 3 weeks per year. Heavily subsidised by Navy to make it affordable and accessible to all.

Impact

Gain a recognised qualification in powerboating; learn a skill they may not otherwise have access to. Team work and group leadership skills.

Pupil Involvement

20 cadets per weekly course from a range of state schools across the country.
