Physics Partners Online Physics Festival

Winchester College was proud to be involved in the Physics Partners Online Physics Festival on Saturday 17th July.   Physics teachers Jeremy Douglas and Jamie Barron joined a team of physics specialists from Physics Partners to deliver training in this virtual event, attended by 62 teachers and technicians from around the country.  Their sessions were on ‘misconceptions in mechanics’, ‘electromagnetic connections’ and ‘challenges and misconceptions in electrical circuits’.  The event was a great success and we would like to thank Bryan Berry from Physics Partners who organised the event and Sarah Cosgriff who gave a keynote speech on ‘improving diversity in physics’ which addressed the gender imbalance in those choosing to study physics.  We look forward to hosting future events in collaboration with Physics Partners.  The sessions were recorded and will be available on our Empower YouTube channel, available to our partner state secondary schools.  Contact for more information.
