Malvern St James - Science Morning
Children from Ashperton Primary Academy attended the Malvern St James Junior Schools’ Science Morning, where every pupil experienced four STEM subject sessions. This year the four subjects were Biology, Chemistry, Physics and ICT.
To engender a passion for STEM in children in our community and provide an opportunity for junior schools to share MSJ’s STEM facilities and expertise.
Admin and organisation of the event is provided by MSJ’s Head of Science. The sessions were each run by Academic staff from the Biology, Chemistry, Physics and ICT departments. Each session was supported by resources from the different departments and practical demonstrations in the science labs were supported by each department’s lab technicians. Tea for all was provided by the Catering Department.
The event has been running for eight years and the feedback we receive from local schools tells us that both children and staff look forward to it each year. The schools that attend do so year after year.
The event is open to junior school children of all ages from 9 to 11.
Held every other year in tandem with its sister event; The Junior Schools’ Technology Morning.
