Malvern St James - Junior Science Morning
Children from local primary schools attended the Malvern St James Junior Schools’ Science Morning. Every pupil experienced four STEM subject sessions - Biology, Chemistry, Physics and ICT.
To engender a passion for STEM in children in our community, provide an opportunity for junior schools to share MSJ’s STEM facilities and expertise.
Admin and organisation of the event is provided by MSJ’s Science and Technology Coordinator. The sessions were each run by Academic staff from the Biology, Chemistry, Physics and ICT departments. Each session was supported by resources from the different departments and practical demonstrations in the science labs were supported by each department’s lab technicians. Tea for all was provided by the Catering Department.
The event has been running for nine years and the feedback we receive from local schools tells us that both children and staff look forward to it each year. The schools that attend do so year after year.
The event is open to children aged 9 to 11.
Held over a morning and scheduled every other year in tandem with its sister event; The Junior Schools’ Technology Morning.
