52 children from two local state primary schools from Years 3/4 Forest Schools Activity allowing the children to investigate the fun and learning opportunities available during a forest schools session.
The children undertook bark and tree rubbing, Den Building and making a camp fire.
The aim of this partnership activity was to share our wonderful grounds with two local schools who do not have direct access to woodlands of their own to use, developing and sharing best practice and ideas in a Forest School setting. Using our accredited staff to lead the activities allowed colleagues from our partner school develop and share their ideas and practice.
The School Partnership lead identified that opportunity to use our facilities and staff to lead this activity. We have developed an ongoing relationship with the schools involved since the start of the academic year 2021.
We used the school woodlands and minibuses to collect and return the children from one school.
One teacher and 2 LSAs supported the delivery of this partnership activity.
The activity lasted for 90 minutes and all financial obligations were met by St Joseph's In The Park.
52 Year 3/4 aged 7,8 and 9 years of age children took part in the activity
This successful activity will continue in the coming terms with differing age group children.
