First Schools Teaching
The project, which we call "First Schools Teaching", involves members of the VIth form going into one of several local primary schools each Wednesday afternoon to assist in the classroom or offering time to supporting the teachers in their work. Typically, suporting the children developing their literacy and numeracy skills is what the project involves. The other schools where this project runs on a weekly basis are:

Aim of the partnership is to support the local community and to assist primary pupils in the development of their learning.
Background
This partnership has been around for at least 20 years.
Pupil Involvement
The primary pupils' ages range from 6-11.
Frequency
The project takes place each Wednesday afternoon between around 1.30-3.15pm
