Dulwich Hamlet Junior School hire Alleyn's theatre for end-of-term production 'Cracked'
Dulwich Hamlet Primary School, Dulwich hired the theatre at Alleyn’s for three days in July for rehearsals and performances of their end of term production, Cracked.
Alleyn’s venue and technical equipment was all hired to Dulwich Hamlets free of charge.
The local School do not have a dedicated performance space at their School. The scale and ambition of the school's end of term show has grown each year. Using The MCT at Alleyn's the school are able to devise a show to fully showcase the talents of their Year 6 pupils. The school made use of the theatre's orchestra pit and included a live band in the production. This year technical aspects included projection, haze and pyrotechnic confetti bombs.
During the evening performance a bar was run by Alleyn’s School and the proceeds made were donated back to the school which allowed them to put this money towards the costs incurred from the necessary staffing of sound and lighting operations and theatre ushers for the production.
Pupils and teachers from Dulwich Hamlet Junior School were invited to watch a matinee of the production and two evening performances were open to friends and family.
Dulwich Hamlet Junior School will be returning to The MCT at Alleyn's in July 2018
