Drama experience for Year 5 and 6 pupils

Ponsbourne is among a number of local state schools that attend our annual matinee production of our lower school production. The schools are invited to participate in music, drama and dance workshops culminating in short perfomances on our stage, before watching a full performance by Queenswood pupils in the afternoon.

Aims

To provide the pupils with an educational and entertaining theatrical experience to broaden their experieince of live theatre.

Background

Since the opening of the Clarissa Farr Theatre in 2006 and the introduction of the annual Lower School production, the opportunity has arisen to invite a wide range of local schoolchildren from the state and independent sectors to experience drama at Queenswood.

Resources

The Clarissa Farr Theatre, Drama teaching staff, Drama scholars and other drama students, Lower School pupils, Admissions, Marketing, Catering, Estates and other support departments.

Impact

Positive feedback, including letters of appreciation, from children and staff.

Pupil Involvement

Year 5 and 6 pupils from Ponsbourne. Years 7, 8 and 9 performers and Year 10 backstage and front of house assistants from Queenswood.
