Dance Make Your Move, London Heats held at Alleyns

On Saturday 23rd April the London heats for the nationwide dance competition, Dance Make Your Move were held in the MCT at Alleyn's theatre.

2016 was the fourth year that the charity event has been held in the MCT at Alleyn's. Its aim to raise money for the British Red Cross. The winner of the London heats goes on to perform at the National Final at the O2 in London.

The MCT at Alleyn's was hired for 12 hours on the day of the competition on a community basis. The nationwide charity dance event is aimed at dancers of all ability between the ages of 4 and 18.

This year seven dance schools from across London, involving over 100 dancers, spent the day rehearsing, preparing for their performance in front of a panel of judges and their family and friends.

Alleyn's supplied a team of staff to ensure the day ran smoothly and to a high standard. Event management staff were on hand on the day and in the run up to the hire as were the technical staff.

Proceeds from ticket sales, bar sales and fundraising from each dance school go directly to the charity and the event held at Alleyn's raised over £5,000.

Dance Make Your Move is an annual nationwide event and Alleyn's looks forward to hosting the London heats again next year.
