Baking Cookies for Care Home Staff
The school's catering team developed and baked 55 bespoke heart-shaped cookies for local community initiative Love Your Neighbour.
Following a request from Love Your Neighbour, a local community initiative which seeks practical ways to help the most vulnerable in the NR5 area of Norwich, the school's catering team baked and donated 550 hear-shaped cookies. The cookies were to be included in care packs which have been put together by Love Your Neighbour to be delivered to staff working in care homes and medical settings during some of the most challenging conditions they have faced so far. Each care home was also given a copy of the school's DVD of musical performances which has been specially produced to be shown in care homes to residents.
The school has worked with Love Your Neighbour on a number of initiatives in the past, including the donation of over 8,000 meals to families in the NR5 area of Norwich.
The cookies were donated free of charge, with catering staff giving up hours to bake on a voluntary basis.
We have received feedback from care home staff including the following thanks:
We were all pleasantly surprised and should have seen big smiles on everyone’s faces. This really boosted everyone’s moral especially now when working in difficult situations during this pandemic. Thank you very much and much appreciated.
The musical DVD is fantastic. It was lovely and relaxing listening to the singers fantastic voices and musicians playing the instruments!
