Impact Statement

The School fosters strong relationships with local maintained schools and their students benefit in a variety of ways.

Local primary schools regularly attend events at the School designed to give students the benefit of expertise and facilities that they may not have access to. Events held during the year include an art exhibition, maths challenge, Junior Schools’ Art Exhibition, various musical and dramatic performances, woodland school sessions, Sporting sessions including a Mini-Olympics and a Lacrosse tournament. Refreshments are provided free of charge by the School for parents and/or staff from other schools attending these events.

Students from neighbouring secondary schools have been invited to attend lectures and enrichment talks by guest speakers from institutions such as Unilever and the University of East Anglia. We also hosted a well-attended Oxbridge Preparation day and a Careers Fair.

The Chaplain maintains informal links with the Chaplains of Dyson Perrins C of E Academy and Malvern College for the purposes of sharing ideas and resources. There is also an annual meeting of the school Chaplains in the Diocese of Worcester, convened by the Bishop of Dudley, for mutual support, reflection and for the sharing of good practice.

Malvern St James Scholarships are offered in a variety of disciplines including Academic, Art, Drama, Flexi-Boarding, Music, Riding, Sport and Technology. Scholarships are designed to reward excellence and to celebrate exceptional talent. We welcome open applications for Scholarships and Exhibitions at 11+, 13+ and 16+, which are awarded on merit.

Our bursary programme is generous and designed to make it possible for as many girls as possible who meet Malvern St James entry criteria to take up a place here. Alongside sibling, military and Old Girl Association discounts, we also offer means-tested bursaries. These are worth up to a maximum of 40% discount from the fees. All Bursaries are granted on the recommendation of the Director of Finance, at the discretion of the Headmistress.

Sibling discount: 10% for the second pupil; 15% for the third pupil (during those years where sisters are at school at the same time)
Old Girls Association: 5% discount
